The proposal

Lomov came with a proposal to marry Natalya. What logic does he give her his decision?

Ans :- Lomov came to chubukov's house with a proposal to marry his daughter's Natyala. To support his decision he give the logic that he is already 35 and age it which one should get married .At this age if he waits for an ideal or real love he would probably never get married .secondly, he explains to himself that is in excellent housekeeper , well educated and not bad looking -the qualities which are needed to be a good wife.  And lastly Lomov gives the logic that since he always  suffer  with palpitations  is excitable and always gets upset ,he ought to lead a quite and regular life and consequently get married.

2) "I am the must unhappy of man".:-

 Who said this? why did he say so? how did the speaker get rid of his unhappanish?

Ans :- This line was said by chubukov. 

         He said so because hethought that  Lomov was dead. Lomov  had came to chubukov's   house with a proposal to marry his daughter  Natayla .But soon Lomov and Natyala fall to quarrelling with each other over the ownership  of the oxen Meadows which in turn terminates in lomov's departure but whenNatalya comes to know from het father about lumov's intention of maring her. She insinuates her father to bring back the prospective bridegroom lomo comes back but soon Natalya and he start bickering with each other over the superiority of their hunting dogs.

         

Consequently, Lomov's ailment is accelerated and  he faints..chubukov perceives that he is dead  and hence comments that he was the must unhappy of men . Chubukov offer water to Lomov and as soon as lomov  revives ,chubukovto insist   that he gets married to his  daughter . Logic  complete his proposal and thus, Cherokee gets rid of his  happiness.

3) Is chubokov a sensible father? 

Ans : in Anton Chekhov's one act play'  The proposal' is the father of a grown up daughter natalya. He is a man of the old school person with feudal mindset. He looks at marriage as an economical and social settlement not as an emotional or individual bonding. He considers his daughter a liability and wants her to get married soon. If this attitude in chubokov's character is analysed ,he will not appear of sensible father rather he can be described as a Shrewd businessman.But chubukov is not totally  indifferent to his daughter's feeling. Even after an abusive  interaction to Chubokov's prings back lomo not to satisfy his business deal  but to satisfy his lovesick daughters frantic demand for a husband.
