Ans :-   The answer given by APJ Abdul Kalam's father to his son's query had such an impact.

Dr  APJ Abdul Kalam was highly impressed by his father's answer to his question.

Once doctor Kalam's father was explaining men's position in the universe and the positive role of adversity .on hearing this, kalam wanted to know why he did not say that to the people who came to him for help and advice. Jainulabdeen answer that every recurrent anguish ,longing and desire demands its own special helper .For the people in distress, he was a mediator in their attempts to please demonic forces with prayers and offerings.He himself  did not approve of his approach .Then he gave two fold vision of destiny ---the fear ridden  vision of destiny and the vision of finding out the enemy of fulfilment within  ourselves .This answer filled Kalam with a strange energy and enthusiasm.

Ans.    APJ Abdul Kalam says this to his father.

" this "refers to the advice that Kalam's father gives to distress people that they should not be afraid of their troubles and suffering .whenever problems come they should try to understand the relevance of their suffering .Adversity is always presents opportunities for introspection.

 The people came to Kalam's father because when they are in distress they want someone to show them the right path.

Dr Kalam's father said this that in every woe there is a special helper suitable for that particular purpose. A lonely person looks for company ,a man in trouble looks for a helper. whenever  human beings reach an impasse, they search for a guide to show them the way out. For people in  distress, he himself was a  mediator in their attempts to please demonic forces with prayers and offering. But  he did not approve of this approach. He spoke about a two  fold vision of destiny -- (i)destiny is fate and( ii) character is destiny . He urged all to distinguish between the two.

He was born in Rameshwaram an Island town . It was then a part of Madras state under the British rule .He lived in his ancestral  house on the mosque street. Rameshwaram was very famous  to pilgrims because of the Shiva temple which was near his house. The locality was predominantly  Muslim but lot of Hindu family also lived there. people of both religions the Hindus and Muslims ,lived in harmony and peace. In the locality ,there was a very old mosque where his  father would take him for evening prayers.

4.   Describe in brief how the girl try to hide blindness from the narrator ?

Ans     instead of revealing her blindness the girl made all attempts to hid it from the blind narrator .when she heard that the narrator was going to Mussoorie ,she got excited like a sighted person .she said that the scene of Mussoorie specially in October are very pleasant and she love them very much .she also expressed her wish to go to Mussoorie in October .But when the narrator banked on his memory for describing the October beauty of Mussoorie the girl made no response.she kept mum intelligently to avoid speaking something that might reveal her loss of vision .when the narrator asked her about the scene outside the window the smartly hid her blindness. Instead of describing the scene outside she asked the narrator to look out of the window.

5.     "Then I made a mistake"----

What mistake did the speaker make ?why was it a "mistake" ?  what removed the speaker's doubts ? what did the speaker do then? 

Ans.  The speaker made the mistake of asking the girl what it was like outside .

The  narrator was blind and he was playing a guessing game .He was behaving with the girl as if he was not blind .He wanted to hide nis blindness from her .incourse of the  conversation, the narrator asked the girl how the outside looked like. Then, he thought now the girl would easily understand that he could not see. He felt that it was a mistake to ask a foolish question like that .

The girl was blind so she did not understand that the man was blind .But she also did not disclose that she was blind. she just casually asked him to look outside .so in fact there was no mistake on his part .

The girl immediately helpe him to get rid of his doubt .she asked him to look out of the window .

Then the speaker moved easily along the berth and felt for the window ledge. He made a pretence of studying the landmark and after a while resumed conversation with the girl.
