Chubokov is a Sensible father. He is aware of his responsibility of being the father of a grown up daughter .that is why he feels happy to know that lomov has come to his house to ask his daughters hand in marriage .not only this he asks lomov to talk to his daughter as he knows that Natalia is like a love sick cat.he wishes to talk lomov and natyala should get married. Though he has a war of words with lomov has he does not reject him he realise the feeling of his daughter and so he encourage them to get married he is really a sensible father who says the feeling of his daughter and acts accordingly.


Why does lomov think that Natyala will make an acceptable wife. explain your answer.

      Lomov thinks that Natyala will make an acceptable wife .that is why he is mentally ready to make a marriage proposal to her. His soliloquy in his house reveals the reasons why he should get married to Maryland.  he says that Natlya is an excellent housekeeper she is not bad looking she is also well educated .what more does he wan t? t if he looks for an ideal or FIR for real love he will never get married not only this only daughter of the rich land owner this marriage will help him to lead a quite and regular life all these qualities of natyala make lomotheen that see should get married to he
